Whether you’re looking to kickstart your creative career, or you’ve got a few years already under your belt, come and be a part of the best employee experience team in the business
Due to continued growth, Karian and Box are looking for a Creative Designer (Junior to Middleweight) to join our expanding, York-based creative team. If you’re dynamic, enthusiastic, talented, hungry to learn and ready to advance your career in a leading, fast-paced, employee engagement agency, we’d love to hear from you.
Who are we?
Karian and Box is an employee engagement agency with a unique approach. We help our clients understand what motivates their employees and come up with innovative ways to make their businesses even better places to work.
We offer a full-spectrum approach to employee engagement, from collecting employee insights through annual surveys to creating great engagement strategies and programmes that create real change.
It’s an exciting time to join our business. As the leader in our field, we work with an expanding range of large, national and international brands including Burberry, Tesco, Nationwide, HSBC, Aviva and The Co-operative.
We’re a people-focused business and your attitude matters more than anything else. We’re proud of our business and culture – and we’re proud that we’ve built our business based on strong client relationships, great talent and a shared instinct that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well.
We practise what we preach; as an employee-owned business, we value the hard work of our people, which means you’d have the opportunity to share the rewards of our success.
Communication design is at the heart of this role and as a Creative Designer, your day will be filled with pace and variety – no two projects are the same.
You’ll be working as part of a supportive and successful creative team who have a passion for design and communication to help develop and deliver outstanding employee communications, innovative engagement programmes and cutting-edge data visualisation designs that really make an impact.
You’ll be working on projects from conception through to delivery – working with senior creatives as well as the wider team, responding to briefs with creativity and curiosity, shaping concepts, and creating design outputs all the way through to finalisation.
You’ll be delivering creative communications ranging from internal brand solutions and campaign collateral to animation storyboards, employee packs and iPDFs.
We’re looking for someone who can enhance our creative offering with raw talent, great communication skills, a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
Direct experience in internal communications would be a bonus, but not essential. What we’re really looking for are designers who show a problem-solving approach and an ability to communicate complex themes that tap into people’s heads and hearts.
So, you’ll be a thinking designer and an ideas person who can bring innovative energy to our collaborative creative process. You’ll also have a strong passion and sensibility for beautifully crafted design, along with a keen eye for detail. But, above all, you’ll be driven, motivated, enthusiastic and a genuine team player. Confidence and passion is encouraged, but design egos must be left at the door.
The usual skills in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator are essential, as well as a good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word. Digital experience is a bonus, but not essential. Our studio hub is York-based, but we’re happy to consider remote working solutions for the right candidate.
In return for your valued contribution we’ll offer you the following benefits:
We’d love to see both your CV and portfolio. Send us examples that showcase the best of your work – especially how you have brought challenging subjects to life through innovative, concept-driven design. Please forward your current CV, a link to your portfolio(as a PDF)and cover letter, stating your salary expectations and explaining your suitability for this role email@example.com.
