Karian and Box have published iC Survey 2008, the follow-up report to the benchmark internal communication research conducted in 2006.
Two years ago, when the benchmark iC Survey study was conducted, the world and the UK were still enjoying the afterglow of one of the longest periods of economic growth in the last 100 years.
Fast forward to the credit crunch, organisational cost-cutting, a housing market in freefall, the spectre of higher unemployment on the horizon, public sector spending in retrenchment; this is the environment facing communicators today.
The results of iC Survey 2008, the most comprehensive study of internal communications in the UK in the last 2 years have been collated from the views of over 500 communication and HR professionals and provide a clear picture of an industry in flux. Topics covered in the report include the changing role of internal communicators, how well organisations communicate business strategy and priorities, and industry expectations for the future.
